When to come to Rio de Janeiro 2018 & 2019

Independent of your reason for visiting the marvellous city it is important to be aware of some guidelines when considering when to come to Rio, so here goes:
September 21 is the first day of spring, December 21, summer, March 21, fall, and June 21, winter.
Normally, the more closer it gets to summer, the higher will the prices become, and also the temperature (20+ degrees in the winter and 40+ in the summer).

Important Dates

10 December – 20 January = high season = book everything in advance

Rio Carnival 2019 will be between March 1st until March 6th
Rio Carnival Champions Parade will be on March 9th (cheaper prices than during normal Carnival period)

Public holidays 2018 & 2019 = book in advance:
October 12 – Nossa Senhora Aparecida
November 2 – Day of the dead
November 15 – Republic Declaration Day
December 25 – X-Mas
